Discover our 4 pilot sites :

During the project, on 4 location, next generation STE systems will be installed, to be monitored and optimized, and to prove their efficiency in 4 different agricultural sectors.

Discover our 4 pilot sites

In the framework of the ICaRE4Farms project, 4 pilot sites will be installed in 4 different countries, in order to measure the effectiveness of the technical solution for different applications and in different countries with significantly different climates.

  • The first of the 4 pilots has been installed since July 2021, on a farm in the Sarthe region of France, on the agricultural farm of Mr. Vaucelles. The new generation Fengtech solar power plant is used to heat water for the feeding of 400 calves.  The farmer uses 2400 L of water every day, heated to 80°C. It is estimated that his propane consumption will decrease by 5 tons per year and that the resulting CO2 emissions will be reduced by 15 tons.To find out more about the French pilot site, click here: Coming Soon
  • A second pilot site will be installed in Herselt, Flanders (Belgium), on a calf farm to preheat the water used to prepare feed for 800 calves. The solar thermal plant will be operational in January 2023.For more information on the Belgian pilot site, click here: Coming Soon
  • The third pilot was supposed to take place in the UK at the University of Lincoln in their Riselhome experimental farm. It would heat a Fengtech greenhouse.

  • Finally, the 4th pilot will be installed in the Netherlands. The solar thermal plant will be located on the experimental farm of Marke in the province of Gelderland, within the specialized university of Life Sciences of Wageningue. The solar thermal power plant will be used to pre-heat digestate from a methaniser. The system will be operational in January 2023.For more information on the Dutch pilot site, click here: Coming Soon
